Rend Lake Invitational
Freshman David Keenan fired a 36 hole total of 148 (72-76), good enough for a 4th place finish, which helped pace the Parkland College Golf team to a 3rd place finish at the Rend Lake Invitational held at Franklin County Country Club on Friday. Keenan finished just three strokes behind medalist Aaron Bravick (Lincoln) who finished at 145 (74-71). Host Rend Lake (594) won the Invite by shooting a 296 on the final 18, the lowest team score on the day, edging John A Logan (598) and the Cobras (601) for the title.
Parkland sophomores Lewis Martin (72-76 148) and Tyler Schmutz (79-73 152) finished 2-3 for the Cobras while freshman Brady Welsh (76-77 153) also played well. PC will be off until traveling to Kentucky Sept 8-10 for the Transylvania University Invitational.
